The Jones Report
How it works

From raw data to a clear call.

The Jones Report runs a single, disciplined pipeline: score every company the same way, let analysts turn the scores into rated research, deliver it in full, and keep it current. Here is each stage.

Most research starts with a story and looks for numbers to support it. We do the opposite. The process below starts with the data on every company and only then reaches a view, so the conclusion is a product of the evidence, not the other way round.

01

Every company is scored.

The Alpha360 methodology rates listed companies across a consistent set of factors and combines them into the Jones Dynamic Score, a single, comparable read on where a company stands. Because the same process runs on every name, two companies can be compared on a like-for-like basis rather than on which one has the better story.

The factors span the dimensions that actually move outcomes:

  • Financial strength and balance-sheet resilience
  • Earnings quality and operating performance
  • Valuation and capital-market signals
  • Growth and analyst sentiment
02

Scores become rated research.

A score on its own is an input, not a decision. Our analysts read the score alongside the underlying data, then publish a clear rating and a written note that sets out the reasoning: what the score is saying, what is driving it, and what would change the view.

The discipline is strict in one direction. The editorial layer can explain and contextualise the data, but it does not override it. If the evidence says downgrade, the research says downgrade.

03

You read it in the portal, in full.

Members access the research through The Jones Report portal. For each covered company you see the complete picture, not just a verdict:

  • The scorecard and the Jones Dynamic Score
  • A factor profile showing where the company is strong and weak
  • Named peer comparisons, with the numbers
  • The written research note behind the call
04

It stays current, and on the record.

Scores move as the data changes. When a company re-rates, the research is updated and the rating revised, so what you are reading reflects where things stand now. Past calls are not quietly edited away; the history is kept, so the track record is there to see.

What you do with it

The Jones Report is a research input, not personal financial advice. It does not know your circumstances and does not tell you what to buy. It gives you the evidence and the reasoning a professional would use, so the decision you make is a better-informed one. How you act on it is yours.

Under the hood

The methodology is published, not a black box.

Alpha360 is not a secret signal. It was built on decades of peer-reviewed research into corporate failure, credit risk, and statistical learning. You can read how it is constructed and the thinking behind it on Alpha360 and Our Thinking.
