Institutional research, opened up.
The Jones Report takes a quantitative research methodology built inside academia and on the institutional desk, and puts it in the hands of investors who were never given access to it.
The research gap nobody fixed.
For decades, the most rigorous equity research was reserved for those who could afford a desk: institutions, funds, and the advisers who serve them.
The analytical machinery that drives those decisions, the models, the scoring systems, the credit-risk frameworks, was developed inside universities and institutional research houses and stayed there. Investors managing their own capital, a family office, or a self-managed super fund were left with broker notes, headline ratings, and stories. They were asked to trust conclusions without ever seeing the reasoning.
The Jones Report exists to close that gap. We take a research process with genuine academic pedigree and deliver it directly to serious investors, with the scores, the reasoning, and the calls laid out in full. Not a watered-down version. The same analytical rigour, made usable.
A research service, not a tip sheet.
The Jones Report is the equity research service of Financial Trends Australia. It applies the Alpha360 methodology to rate and analyse listed companies, and delivers that research to members through a dedicated portal.
Every covered company carries a score, a rating, and a written note that explains the call. The aim is not to tell you what to think, but to show you what the evidence says and let you decide, the way a professional analyst would work through it.
Built by the academic who created the methodology.
Alpha360 was invented by Professor Jones, Professor of Accounting at the University of Sydney and one of the world’s foremost researchers on bankruptcy prediction, credit risk, and the application of machine learning to financial markets. The Jones Report runs on his work, not a vendor model and not a back-fitted signal.

Three principles we do not compromise on.
These are the standards the research is held to, and the reason members can trust what they read.
System over opinion
Every rating follows the Alpha360 score. When the score changes, the view changes. The editorial layer explains the data; it never overrides it.
Evidence over narrative
Each call is backed by a hard number or a named peer comparison. “Compared to peers” is not good enough; we name them and show the figures.
Transparency over mystique
Members see the same scores we use. The methodology is published. If a call is wrong, you will see exactly where and why.
No conflicts, no house view to sell.
The Jones Report does not run a brokerage, underwrite placements, or earn commissions on what you buy or sell. Our only relationship is with our members. That independence is what lets the research follow the evidence wherever it leads, including to a downgrade or a name we would rather avoid.
Financial Trends Australia Pty Ltd is the entity behind The Jones Report. Its regulatory standing and the documents that govern the service are set out in the Financial Services Guide.
